Job Description

The Controllership Consolidation Officer is responsible for timely and proper consolidation of financial transactions in conformity with accounting standards, statutory and regulatory requirements. He/She is accountable for the preparation of financial schedules and reports to support statutory reporting; and internal reporting within the Company and Aboitiz Group. Additionally, the consolidation officer also maintains and reconciles the general ledger and asset accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation process across multiple entities, and subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and post intercompany elimination entries, foreign currency translations, and consolidation adjustments.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances continuously, and resolve discrepancies directly with entity owners.
  • Prepare stand-alone parent and consolidated financial reports and supports such as noted to financial statements.
  • Assist the Controllership Manager with management of reporting packs, and variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Prior Period).
  • Own the month-end GL close process, ensuring all journal entries are posted accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts in collaboration with the ERP Systems Lead/IT Master Data
  • Support external audit processes by preparing audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (prepayments, accruals, equity, bank accounts) to ensure financial integrity.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register/Schedule, tracking of capital expenditures, acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Conduct periodic physical asset verifications, and impairment reviews in accordance with company policy.
  • Partner with the AP/Tax Accountant to ensure correct sub-ledger (AP) to general ledger postings and tax-related ledger adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the ERP/Systems Support Lead to streamline financial workflows, test ledger updates, and automate consolidation schedules.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the immediate superior from time-to-time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or an Accounting related field.
  • At least 4-6 years of progressive consolidation and fixed assets management
  • Experience in a conglomerate structure is highly preferred, along with at least with one year of external audit experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of PFRS, specifically around intercompany eliminations.
  • Hands-on experience with modern ERP systems such as SAP is essential, complemented by advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, dynamic array formula).
  • Highly organized, proactive, solutions-oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet tight month-end deadlines.
