JOB SUMMARY

The Contracts Engineer is a site-based role responsible for the end-to-end administration and management of engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), consultancy, and supply contracts for large-scale hydropower pumped storage projects. The role ensures contractual compliance, safeguards the company's commercial interests, manages risks, evaluates claims and variations, and provides contract support throughout the project lifecycle—from tendering and contract award to project close-out.

Working closely with Contracts Manager, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, and external contractors, the Contracts Engineer supports successful project delivery while minimizing contractual and commercial risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage EPC, construction, consultancy, supply, and service contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review, negotiate, and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Monitor contract obligations, deliverables, milestones, and key deadlines.
  • Evaluate and manage contract variations, change orders, claims, and extension of time (EOT) requests.
  • Identify contractual risks and recommend practical solutions to minimize project impact.
  • Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and other teams on contract-related matters.
  • Prepare contract reports, correspondence, and documentation for management review.
  • Support commercial negotiations and resolve contractual issues with contractors and consultants.
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract records and ensure proper document control.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering , Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contracts administration or contract management for large-scale infrastructure, EPC, power, hydropower, mining, or transportation projects.
  • Strong experience managing EPC, FIDIC, Design-Build, or major construction contracts from tender to project close-out.
  • Solid knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, procurement, claims, variations, EOTs, and dispute resolution.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and international contractors is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ; experience with SAP, Oracle, or contract management systems is preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, RICS, MRICS, CCP, CCM, CCE) are an advantage.
  • Willing to be assigned either in Rizal and Laguna
