Key Responsibilities
- Contract Administration
- Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of engineering and construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, bespoke).
- Ensure all contractual requirements are implemented in accordance with company and project procedures.
- Maintain contract documentation, registers, variation logs, and correspondence records.
- Cost & Commercial Support
- Assist in preparing interim payment applications, valuations, and final accounts.
- Monitor contract budgets, track expenditures, and support cost control processes.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of variation orders, claims, and extensions of time (EOT).
- Procurement and Subcontracts
- Support procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and evaluate bids and participate in negotiations when required.
- Administer subcontracts, including scope changes, payments, and close-outs.
- Coordination and Communication
- Liaise with project engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, and the legal team on contract-related matters.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding contract compliance and change management.
- Support progress reporting and attend commercial/contractual meetings.
- Risk and Compliance
- Identify and escalate contractual risks, and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and contract terms.
- Assist in audits and ensure proper documentation for internal and external reviews.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years experience in contract administration, preferably in coastal, marine, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract.
- Strong understanding of project cost control, variation management, and basic contract law.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/contract management systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
