About the Role
We're looking for an exceptional writer to join a US-based cybersecurity consulting firm as its Content Marketing Coordinator. The firm provides fractional CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) services to mid-sized technology companies that need senior security leadership but aren't large enough for a full-time hire.
This is a writing-first role: sharp, publish-ready copy across blogs, white papers, emails, social, ad copy, and web pages, from someone willing to become a subject-matter expert in what they write about. You'll also own the firm's SEO program and support publishing and light graphic design. Success is copy that's right on the first pass, from a writer who uses AI tools to sharpen real ability, not replace it.
What You'll Do
Content & Writing
- Write and edit blogs, white papers, emails, social posts, ad copy, web pages, and sales handouts—publish-ready copy that fits the brand voice and speaks to a senior, technical audience.
- Match the established brand and leadership tone; a style guide and AI-assisted writing pipeline are provided.
- Plan content across channels from the content calendar.
Publishing & Marketing Operations
- Publish blogs and web pages to WordPress, fully prepared (Elementor a plus).
- Build and edit HubSpot workflows, focused on marketing emails.
- Keep content organized and on schedule, updating the calendar in Trello.
- Produce light creative assets and image edits (featured images, thumbnails, resizing, cropping) in Affinity or Adobe.
SEO & Link Building
- Optimize blogs and pages for SEO and AEO in Yoast before publication; SEO program ownership transfers to this role.
- Support link-building outreach and partnerships—identifying backlink opportunities and contacting potential partner sites.
Digital Advertising & Campaign Support
- Run and edit Google and LinkedIn Ads campaigns, including ad copy.
- Support other marketing activities as needed.
What We're Looking For
Non-Negotiables
- 3+ years writing and producing marketing content, ideally for B2B or professional services.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with a portfolio (samples requested during hiring).
- A writer first: sharp, publish-ready copy on the first pass, not drafts that need heavy editing.
- Produce excellent writing independently, using AI tools (the team works with Claude) to assist, not replace, your ability.
- Adapt your writing to an established brand voice and a leader's personal tone, guided by a style guide.
- Strong deep-reading and research skills: turn dense source material (standards, technical docs) into clear, authoritative copy.
- Subject-matter-expert mindset: dig into first-party resources and ask in-house experts rather than write from surface knowledge.
- Working knowledge of SEO, with Yoast or a similar on-page tool.
- Familiarity with WordPress or another CMS; able to publish without developer support (Elementor a plus).
- Familiarity with Affinity or Adobe for basic image work.
- Proactive and engaged: bring ideas, speak up constructively, and keep multiple deadlines moving without being chased.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Mailchimp, Salesforce, or a similar marketing automation/CRM.
- Familiarity with Trello or similar project management software.
- Link-building outreach experience.
- Experience pulling and interpreting digital marketing analytics.
- Writing experience for cybersecurity or similar technical B2B (cybersecurity experience itself not required).
