Job Description

Company Description

DotVA is an Australian-based VA company that aims to provide reliable, high-quality and cost-effective administrative services to small businesses and sole traders, so they can focus on what they do best.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Content Marketing Assistant & Video Editor to support a female-founded Australian wellness education business on a part-time basis. Led by a clinical nutritionist turned speaker and educator, the business has a strong, story-driven personal brand with a warm, humour-led voice, spanning a podcast, a published book, and workshops across schools, councils and corporate spaces. The ideal candidate will have strong video and short-form reel editing skills, along with a good eye for graphic design.

Working closely with the founder, you'll transform podcasts, workshops, keynote presentations, voice notes, brain dumps, photos and behind-the-scenes moments into engaging content that reflects the founder's authentic voice. You'll help ensure the business maintains a consistent online presence while freeing the founder to focus on speaking, relationship building and business growth. It is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys creative, content-driven work and takes pride in capturing a founder's unique voice rather than chasing generic trends.

The role will start at approx. 10 hours per week, with the flexibility to scale up as the business evolves. There is an opportunity to grow with this business over time, with increasing responsibility for content marketing, and digital brand management as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

1. Podcast & Video Content

  • Repurpose podcast episodes into engaging content, including approximately 2 short-form reels, a quote graphic and carousel post for social media.
  • Edit short-form video content in line with the business's branding and story-driven style
  • Ensure all video content stays authentic to the founder's voice, working from her raw material rather than generic content

2. Social Media Content Creation

  • Create approximately 3-4 posts per week for the wellness education accounts - a mix of photos, video clips from recent events, infographics and graphics.
  • Work closely with the founder to produce 1-2 LinkedIn posts per week to build the founder's profile as a speaker and thought leader and increase speaking, school and corporate opportunities.
  • Turn stories, captions and event photos into polished, on-brand content
  • Design graphics and simple infographics with a strong visual eye

3. Scheduling & Workflow

  • Schedule and manage content across platforms using Buffer (or similar)
  • Organise and work from raw photos and videos stored in Google Drive
  • Submit all content to the founder for approval before it goes live
  • Review content performance and suggest ideas to continuously improve engagement, reach and visibility while staying true to the brand

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Strong video and short-form reel editing skills (essential)
  • A good eye for graphic design and creating visually appealing content (highly regarded)
  • Ability to capture and stay true to a founder's brand voice, working from brain dumps and raw content rather than generic material (essential)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently (essential)
  • Ability to proactively identify engaging stories and content opportunities from workshops, podcasts, speaking events and day-to-day business activities.
  • Excellent written English communication (essential)
  • Organised and reliable, with a consistent content workflow (essential)
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable remote workspace (essential)
  • Experience using modern content creation, editing and scheduling tools. We're less concerned with which software you've used and more interested in your ability to learn new systems, improve workflows and produce exceptional content. Familiarity with tools such as Buffer, Canva, CapCut, YouTube Studio and Google Drive is highly regarded.

We're not looking for someone to simply edit videos. We're looking for someone who is excited to grow alongside the business, become part of our journey and help bring meaningful, educational content to thousands of children, families and organisations across Australia.
