Job Description

Location: Remote (Philippines-based)

Role Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: New Zealand business hours (NZT)

About the Role

Deskwork is looking for a Marketing Specialist who creates content for a living and who is comfortable being the face of it.

This is a content-first, video-first role. The majority of the work is producing video: scripting it, filming it, editing it, and appearing in it. You will be on camera regularly: talking-head explainers, short-form social video, founder-style pieces, product and service walkthroughs, and event or behind-the-scenes content. If being on camera is not something you enjoy, this is not the role for you.

Around that core, you will run Deskwork's social channels, design supporting graphics, and manage email campaigns for the Australia and New Zealand market. The goal is brand awareness, engagement, and inbound leads.

Key Responsibilities

Video Content & On-Camera Presence (primary focus)

  • Appear on camera as a regular presenter for Deskwork content: explainers, short-form social video, and campaign pieces.
  • Script, film, and edit short-form video (Reels, Shorts, LinkedIn video, TikTok-style formats) on a consistent weekly cadence.
  • Produce long-form video where required webinars, interviews, case studies, walkthroughs and cut it down into multiple short-form assets.
  • Direct and coach others on camera, including the founder, leadership, and offshore team members, so recording sessions run efficiently.
  • Own the full video pipeline end to end: concept, script, shoot, edit, captions, thumbnails, publishing.
  • Maintain a consistent on-screen presentation style: clear delivery, good framing, clean audio, brand-consistent look.

Content Creation & Repurposing

  • Turn one idea into many assets: one recording becomes clips, carousels, posts, and email content.
  • Write scripts and hooks that hold attention in the first three seconds.
  • Extract content ideas from inside the business: client wins, staff stories, operational insights, founder POV and turn them into publishable content.
  • Maintain a running content calendar and a backlog of ideas ready to shoot.

Social Media Management

  • Own day-to-day posting across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Grow and engage the community: respond to comments and messages, and build relationships with the AU & NZ audience.
  • Track performance and report on what is working, with clear recommendations for the next cycle.

Social Strategy & Trend Research

  • Monitor trends, formats, and competitor activity across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Identify trending topics and content styles worth adapting, and move quickly on them.
  • Test new formats and optimise based on performance data.

Graphic Design

  • Create graphics for social, email, and digital campaigns using Canva (brand templates provided).
  • Design thumbnails, captions, and on-screen text that support the video content.
  • Keep all visual output consistent with brand guidelines.

Email Marketing

  • Build, schedule, and manage email campaigns.
  • Segment audiences and build targeted email flows.
  • Monitor open rates, CTR, and conversions, and optimise accordingly.
  • Maintain and grow email lists in line with data regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • 3+ years in content marketing, social media, or video content production.
  • Strong video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
  • Strong scripting and copywriting, especially short-form hooks and conversational delivery.
  • Proficiency in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Comfortable with self-shooting: basic lighting, framing, and audio setup in a home or remote environment.
  • Analytical mindset, able to read performance data and change direction based on it.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to work independently across multiple projects.

Preferred

  • Experience marketing to Australian and/or New Zealand audiences.
  • Experience growing a LinkedIn or YouTube presence for a B2B brand.
  • Working knowledge of Mailchimp or a similar email platform.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content production (scripting, editing, repurposing).

What We're Looking For

  • Someone who genuinely enjoys being on camera and does not need to be talked into it.
  • A creator first, high output, fast turnaround, consistent quality.
  • Trend-aware and proactive, not waiting to be handed ideas.
  • Detail-oriented and consistent with the brand.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative, fully remote environment.
