Job Summary

The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong control culture and ensuring permanent controls readiness through proactive risk and issue identification. This position provides independent risk and control perspectives on products, services, processes, and initiatives, advises senior leaders on significant risk matters, and serves as a resource for best practices in operational risk and control management. The role also supports CBORC strategy execution, represents the function in cross-functional forums, and provides oversight during internal and external reviews while mentoring team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive a strong control culture and permanent controls readiness through proactive risk and issue self-identification
  • Review products, services, processes, programs, and initiatives to provide independent risk and control perspective
  • Advise business and functional groups and update senior leaders on significant risk and control matters
  • Serve as a best practices and quality resource on operational risk and control management
  • Participate in the development and execution of CBORC strategies and initiatives
  • Represent CBORC in cross-functional forums and meetings
  • Provide first-line oversight and support to the business during internal and external reviews
  • Deliver training and mentoring to CBORC staff
  • Handle ad hoc initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant control and/or project experience in a dynamic Risk and Control environment
  • In-depth knowledge of control development, monitoring, and testing processes and risks

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective planning and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to make sound business decisions and achieve results
  • Ability to manage teams and mentor staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate issues
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and SharePoint
  • Resourceful and quick to develop working knowledge of core business processes
