Your bite-size role:

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of construction and engineering projects from project development through final turnover. The role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within approved budget, according to project specifications, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, permits, and regulatory requirements.

The Construction Project Manager will lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technical personnel, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, technology providers, and other project stakeholders. The role requires strong project management, technical, commercial, and leadership capabilities to ensure that project objectives and client expectations are consistently achieved.

Your role has a wide range of responsibilities:

Project Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage construction and engineering projects from planning, mobilization, execution, commissioning, and completion through final turnover.
  • Serve as the overall project lead and primary point of coordination among the client, engineering team, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish project objectives, priorities, timelines, and performance targets in alignment with approved project requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that activities remain aligned with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, progress reviews, coordination meetings, and site meetings as required.

Construction and Site Management

  • Review project plans, engineering drawings, specifications, material submittals, shop drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Ensure proper coordination between civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, and other project disciplines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with site personnel to identify construction issues, risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, punch listing, rectification, documentation, and final project handover.

Project Planning, Cost, and Schedule Control

  • Lead the development and management of project schedules, milestones, manpower requirements, equipment requirements, and resource plans.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, procurement activities, and overall project financial performance.
  • Identify schedule slippages and develop appropriate recovery plans and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate project changes, variations, additional works, and potential claims and coordinate with relevant teams for proper assessment and approval.
  • Ensure effective allocation and utilization of project resources based on project requirements and priorities.

Technical and Engineering Coordination

  • Lead the Technical Working Group and provide technical direction and coordination to project engineers and technical personnel.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to engineers and junior project staff.
  • Review and coordinate technical designs, engineering plans, calculations, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Ensure that engineering and construction outputs are aligned with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and submission of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Participate in technical studies, project development activities, site assessments, and constructability reviews.
  • Provide technical input during project planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Client, Contractor, and Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary project representative in dealing with clients, partners, contractors, suppliers, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with client project personnel and subject matter experts to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, technology providers, and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery.

Risk, Quality, Safety, and Compliance 

  • Identify, assess, monitor, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency measures for identified project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable construction regulations, local codes, permits, engineering standards, environmental requirements, and company policies.
  • Ensure that all required permits, clearances, licenses, and approvals are obtained before and during the appropriate phases of project execution.
  • Coordinate closely with EHS personnel to ensure that construction activities are performed safely and in accordance with company and project safety requirements.

Project Documentation and Turnover 

  • Ensure proper preparation, review, and maintenance of project documentation.
  • Monitor submission and approval of drawings, reports, permits, inspection requests, material submittals, progress reports, and other project documents.
  • Lead the preparation and completion of punch lists and close-out requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance documents, warranties, test results, certificates, and other turnover documents.
  • Lead the final project turnover and ensure that all contractual and technical requirements are completed and properly documented.

Team Leadership and Development 

  • Delegate project responsibilities based on team members competencies, experience, workload, and project requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to engineers and project personnel.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, collaboration, and professional development within the project team.
  • Build an effective project team capable of delivering high-quality results within established timelines and resources.

Whom we need for high-performance team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering field.
  • Preferably a PRC-licensed Engineer.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, project management, or a related field; experience in managing or coordinating construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), or similar infrastructure/construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction activities from project planning and mobilization through installation, testing, commissioning, and final turnover.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, project scheduling, cost control, procurement, quality control, and site coordination.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and preferably MS Project or similar project scheduling tools.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other CAD/design software is an advantage.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review engineering drawings, blueprints, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong project planning, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with engineers, management, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, consultants, and clients.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of project scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and risk management.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability in delivering assigned projects and commitments.
  • Maintains high standards of professionalism and communication with partners and clients as an ambassador of Power 4 All.
  • Has a growth mindset and is open to learning new technologies, systems, construction methodologies, and industry practices.
  • Willing to conduct periodic site visits and travel as required by project requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a combination of office-based and project/site environments.
  • Willing to take on a hands-on role in resolving project, technical, construction, and coordination challenges.
