Position Overview

We are currently seeking Construction Modelers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting and executing complex geometry project modelling and connecting, including setting strategy for best use of model connecting tools and component development, for their assigned projects. They can comprehend complex level Structural and Architectural design details and can capably translate that information into detailing models. They will demonstrate expert proficiency in smart and efficient modelling techniques and exhibit attention to detail in their work. This role demands the ability to collaborate and work in close partnership with team members to deliver high-quality results, while ensuring that project requirements and schedules are met.

Core Responsibilities

• To perform at any time and as a minimum, the tasks laid out in the DBM Vircon Skills Matrix for this position description (predominantly Advance 3D related items), and any future development tasks.
• To perform complex level geometry and connection modelling as directed by Team Leader.
• To assist, as required, the initial set-up of the project, including:

• Provision of preliminary model estimation and schedule to Team Lead
• Tekla Structure model creation or stick modelling and Creation of Tekla project setup (part-prefix, Numbering, Phase sequence, etc.)
• Store attribute files for members or connections or drawings and check the first articles

• Delegate, allocate and support the right resources to the modelling tasks and monitor progress.
• Responsible for Custom Component strategy and application.
• Ensure that DBM Vircon procedures are followed during job execution.
• Prepare Design Change Request (DCR) and tagging members in the model.
• Execute change work, including updating and managing all changed or updated drawings; should be completely familiar with DBM Vircon and Client process for change work
• To supervise, support and train or mentor Cadets and Modelers 1 and 2.
• To take charge on project deliverables in coordination with the Checker 3 and/or the Team Leader as needed

Work Experience

• Experience working/Detailing in Large and Complex Projects with a minimum 5 years experience in Tekla Detailing.

Education/Training

• University Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Certificate or training in 3D modelling software, e.g. Tekla, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.

Software & Technology

• Position will require the frequent use of MS Office applications, Tekla, and proprietary applications (e.g. JMS).
