As Construction Manager, you will represent the Owner's interests on-site during the execution of the project. This role ensures that the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor delivers the project in strict compliance with the EPC contract, technical specifications, safety regulations, budget, and schedule. The position focuses on critical path monitoring, change order evaluation, site quality/HSE oversight, and risk mitigation from site mobilization through Mechanical Completion, Substantial Completion, and Commercial Operation Date (COD) and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Project Development and Execution Team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- EPC Contract & Scope Management: Review, validate, and manage the technical and execution aspects of the EPC contract. Evaluate contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and Field Change Notices to prevent scope creep and unjustified Change Orders (COs).
- Schedule & Critical Path Monitoring: Actively track the baseline schedule. Monitor critical path activities including civil grading, tracker/racking installation, module delivery, substation construction, and SCADA integration to prevent delays.
- Milestone Verification: Inspect, audit, and sign off on key contract milestones (e.g., Mechanical Completion, Substantial Completion, and Final Acceptance) ensuring all contractual criteria and performance tests are met.
- Claims & Schedule Extension Evaluation: Analyze EPC contractor claims for schedule extensions (e.g., Force Majeure, weather delays) or cost increases, providing objective data, site logs, and logic to accept, negotiate, or reject claims.
- Quality & Technical Compliance: Partner with the QA/QC Lead to ensure all site installations match the approved IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings, technical specifications, and PVSyst performance expectations.
- HSE Oversight: Monitor and enforce site safety protocols and environmental compliance. Ensure the EPC contractor maintains a zero-harm workplace environment and adheres to local regulations.
- Punch List & Commissioning Management: Lead the compilation, prioritization, and close-out of punch list items during the testing and commissioning phase to ensure asset optimization before final handover.
- Risk Mitigation & Reporting: Preemptively flag site bottlenecks (e.g., grid operator testing backlogs, logistics disruptions, permitting delays) and generate actionable weekly/monthly executive summaries for project stakeholders.
- Material & Logistics Oversight: Monitor the delivery, handling, and secure storage of critical Owner-furnished or EPC-procured permanent materials (modules, inverters, transformers) on site.
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
- Proven track record of successfully bringing at least two utility-scale solar projects from ground-breaking through successful commissioning and COD.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a strong plus.
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least eight [8] years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years dedicated to utility-scale solar PV projects (50MW+ preferred) and at least 3 years in a supervisory or manager-level capacity representing the Owner or Owner's Engineer (OE) side.
- Must be a Licensed Engineer
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Proficiency in Project Scheduling & Critical Path Analysis (Primavera P6 / MS Project) and Computer Skills (MS Office, AutoCAD, Procore/Document Control Systems).
- Strong skills in EPC Contract Administration & Dispute Resolution, Utility-Scale Solar PV Construction Methods (Civil/Electrical/Substation), Risk Management & Preemptive Problem Solving, Stakeholder & Contractor Management, and Knowledge of Grid Integration Standards (NGCP/Philippine Grid Code).
