Job Description

Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator (Tiling & Fit-Out) to join their growing team. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end estimation and quotation process for tiling projects, from reviewing architectural drawings and preparing quantities to obtaining supplier pricing and delivering accurate project quotations. The ideal candidate has strong construction estimating experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEST (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Import architectural drawings into Cubit and accurately measure floor and wall areas for tiling projects
  • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in accordance with Australian standards
  • Review architectural plans, finishes schedules, and project documentation to identify project requirements and risks
  • Coordinate with suppliers via email to obtain pricing, product specifications, availability, and match tile requirements to appropriate products
  • Compile accurate and fully priced quotations using material costs and labour rates provided by the client
  • Manage multiple tenders and quotations simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met and records are well maintained
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and communicate findings clearly, including discrepancies or missing information impacting scope or cost

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimation, ideally within tiling, flooring, fit-out, or related trades
  • Proficiency in Cubit / CostX or similar quantity take-off and estimation software, with experience preparing BOQs to Australian standards
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and finishes schedules
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in measurements, pricing, and overall estimate preparation
  • Excellent written communication skills for supplier coordination, quotations, and project correspondence
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with ownership of the estimation process, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based project tools
