Concrete & Formwork Estimator

We are hiring a Senior Concrete & Formwork Estimator for an Australian integrated concrete and formwork company. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who can take ownership of complex tender submissions, detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and final pricing for high-value construction projects.

About the Role

You will lead the full estimating process for concrete and formwork packages, from initial tender review through detailed takeoffs and final pricing submissions. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver accurate, competitive estimates that support project profitability and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze architectural and structural drawings to identify concrete and formwork scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, including concrete volumes, reinforcement tonnages, and formwork areas.
• Develop comprehensive cost models covering materials, labour, plant, subcontractors, and project risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Prepare tender submissions with detailed breakdowns, methodology statements, and risk assessments.
• Review estimates through constructability analysis and comparison with historical project data.
• Support project teams with cost monitoring, variation assessment, and progress claims.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on estimating experience in concrete and formwork for commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience using estimating tools such as Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, CostX, Buildsoft, or Cubit.
• Deep knowledge of concrete construction methods, formwork systems, reinforcement detailing, and relevant Australian/international standards.
• Proven experience preparing tenders for concrete packages valued above $2 million.
• Understanding of concrete material properties, mix designs, placement methods, and quality control requirements.
• Experience with complex formwork systems such as climbing forms, table forms, and architectural concrete finishes.
