Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical SOX Compliance Accountant responsible for ensuring compliance with SOX controls, aligning accounting policies with IFRS standards, and supporting accurate financial reporting. The role requires strong expertise in accruals, provisions, and estimates, with a focus on internal controls and policy governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, including documentation, testing, and monitoring of internal controls
- Align accounting policies and procedures with IFRS and company standards
- Review and assess financial processes to ensure control effectiveness and compliance
- Manage and review accruals, including self-insurance accruals, provisions, and reserves accounting
- Evaluate significant accounting estimates and ensure proper documentation and support
- Prepare and review journal entries related to accruals and provisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address control gaps and implement improvements
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
- Identify risks and recommend enhancements to strengthen internal controls and compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field
- Proven experience in SOX compliance, audit, or technical accounting
Requirements:
- IFRS experience
- Strong background in accruals, provisions, and reserves accounting
- Experience in self-insurance accruals and significant estimates
- Technical accounting and SOX experience, particularly in policy alignment
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
