Your key responsibilities

You will be joining the AFC Risk Assessment team which is responsible for operationalizing financial crime risk assessment framework and an enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessment in APAC/MEA.

Risk Assessment Execution

  • Develop, maintain, and embed an AFC Risk Assessment framework and procedures in APAC/MEA.
  • Apply the agreed methodology to assess Inherent Risk (IR), Control Effectiveness (CE), and Residual Risk (RR) across relevant Assessment Units.
  • Support the production of regional/legal entity level AFC Risk Assessment reports, including any potentially required local specifics or add-ons.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Participate in Global Working Group calls and contribute to methodology enhancements.

  • Provide training and guidance on FCRA processes to local teams.

  • Engage with the local, regional and global teams in the design, definition and implementation of the AFC Risk Assessment Framework including specific regional and country requirements.
  • Support in the presentation in the regional view of Risk Assessment summaries to Regional Management. Prepare dashboards and reports for senior management, highlighting risk trends and remediation plans progress.

Governance and Oversight

  • Perform Quality Assurance on Quarterly Risk Assessment rationales and ratings.
  • Review and approve local overrides to centrally sourced risk ratings, ensuring justification and documentation are provided.
  • Perform analytical review of risk metrics trends and risk assessment results.
  • Identify additional areas of opportunities to enhance analytics, reporting, deliver report of findings, gaps and proposed enhancements to Senior Management and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in AFC/ Regulatory/Audit related initiatives as required.

Your skills and experience:

  • Over 6 years of prior experience in banking or from the regulators with good knowledge of local laws and regulations. Of which, at least 3 years of experience in financial crime risk management.
  • Strong understanding of AML, sanctions, fraud, and other financial crime risk types.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Skills in data visualization and automation skills is an added advantage.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities, working under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Confident and effective in managing senior stakeholders.
  • Able to rationalize, synthesize and communicate data in a manner that assists management in making appropriate risk management decisions.
  • Able to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organization.
  • Able to work pro-actively by yourself and with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
