About The Role
As a
Compliance & Legal Officer based in the Philippines, you will provide essential compliance and legal support across a range of matters, helping ensure Bureau Veritas maintains the highest standards of compliance and risk management. Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Support: Assist in delivering compliance training and advice to internal teams and stakeholders
- Compliance Programs: Support compliance initiatives rolled out by Head Office, including the Annual Compliance Declaration and related activities
- Investigation & Ethics: Assist in investigating potential breaches of the Code of Ethics reported through whistleblowing systems and other channels; provide recommendations under supervision
- Contract Support: Review and assist in negotiating client contracts to ensure alignment with Bureau Veritas principles and contracting standards
- Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and assisting Boards and Company Secretaries
- Legal Assistance: Provide support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting matters
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent legal qualification
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to work hard and be flexible with timing and context
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
- Experience or exposure to contract review and negotiation
- Familiarity with corporate governance or ethics frameworks
- Knowledge of Philippine labor and business regulations
