Position Overview

The Company Accountant will provide outsourced accounting and tax support to KFI, managing day-to-day

financial accounting, compliance requirements and preparation of information for Australian tax obligations.

The role will work closely with business owners, external accountants, bookkeepers and other professional

advisers to ensure financial records are accurate, compliant and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.

• Complete bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight.

• Monitor cash flow and working capital.

• Prepare profit and loss and balance sheet reports.

• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.

Australian Tax & Compliance

• Assist with preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and GST reporting.

• Prepare financial information required for company tax returns.

• Assist with PAYG withholding and instalment obligations.

• Maintain records to support Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements.

• Assist with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) calculations and reporting where applicable.

• Assist with payroll-related tax and superannuation compliance.

• Monitor key tax and compliance deadlines.

• Liaise with the client's registered tax agent or external accountant where required.

Business Support

• Provide business owners with clear financial reporting and insights.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

• Provide financial information to support business decision-making.

• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.

Client & Outsourcing Support

• Manage accounting tasks across multiple Australian clients.

• Maintain confidentiality of client financial information.

• Communicate regularly with clients regarding outstanding information and compliance requirements.

• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed service levels.

• Maintain organised digital records and supporting documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Accounting qualification such as Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or equivalent.

• CPA/CA qualification or working towards qualification desirable.

• Experience working with Australian businesses and Australian taxation requirements.

• Strong understanding of GST, BAS, PAYG and general Australian accounting principles.

• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or similar.

• Strong Excel/Google Sheets capability.

• Experience supporting multiple businesses or working within an outsourced accounting environment

desirable.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet compliance deadlines.
