Communications Manager – Seda BGC

Job Summary

The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic internal and external communications initiatives that strengthen Seda BGC's brand image, reputation, guest engagement, employee communication, and market presence.

The role will manage communications across various channels, including media relations, digital platforms, social media, internal communications, PR activities, hotel campaigns, events, and corporate communications. The position will work closely with the General Manager, Executive Committee, Sales & Marketing, HR, Operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective communication aligned with Seda Hotels brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Corporate & Hotel Communications

  • Develop and implement the hotel's annual communications and PR plan aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across internal and external communication channels.
  • Prepare and manage hotel announcements, press releases, official statements, speeches, talking points, and other communication materials.
  • Support the General Manager and Executive Committee in preparing key messages for internal and external engagements.
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, timely, professional, and aligned with brand standards.

2. Media & Public Relations

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with media, journalists, influencers, bloggers, and other relevant industry partners.
  • Coordinate press releases, media interviews, hotel features, press visits, media events, and other PR activities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase Seda BGC's visibility through relevant media and industry platforms.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports on PR exposure and brand visibility.
  • Handle media inquiries professionally and coordinate appropriate responses with management.

3. Digital & Social Media

  • Develop and manage content strategies for the hotel's social media and digital platforms.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely and engaging content.
  • Review social media content to ensure consistency with Seda brand guidelines.
  • Monitor online conversations, guest feedback, and hotel reputation across digital platforms.
  • Support online reputation management and coordinate appropriate responses to guest concerns when required.
  • Analyze social media and digital performance and recommend improvements.

4. Internal Communications

  • Develop effective communication initiatives to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Prepare internal announcements, newsletters, employee communication materials, and campaign communications.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and department heads on employee engagement and internal communication programs.
  • Ensure important hotel updates, initiatives, achievements, and activities are communicated effectively to employees.

5. Marketing & Promotional Support

  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing in developing hotel campaigns, promotions, events, and brand initiatives.
  • Provide communication and PR support for F&B promotions, hotel events, packages, partnerships, and special occasions.
  • Develop compelling written content for brochures, presentations, websites, EDMs, press materials, and other marketing collateral.
  • Ensure communication materials effectively highlight the hotel's positioning, facilities, services, and guest experience.

6. Events & Brand Activation

  • Support the planning and execution of hotel events, media events, launches, celebrations, and community activities.
  • Coordinate communication requirements before, during, and after major hotel events.
  • Develop event-related materials such as invitations, press releases, scripts, talking points, and social media content.

7. Crisis & Reputation Management

  • Support the hotel's crisis communication process and reputation management initiatives.
  • Assist management in preparing appropriate communication responses during incidents or sensitive situations.
  • Monitor potential reputational risks and promptly escalate significant issues to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive hotel and guest-related information.

8. Reporting & Budget Management

  • Monitor and report communications, PR, media, and social media performance.
  • Track communications-related activities, partnerships, and media exposure.
  • Assist in managing the communications and PR budget effectively.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of communication initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

Experience — Required

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, or a similar role.
  • Must have relevant experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel, preferably in a luxury, upscale, or internationally recognized hotel environment.
  • Previous experience in a hotel Communications, PR, Marketing Communications, or Brand role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with hotel management, particularly the General Manager and Executive Committee, is an advantage.
  • Experience in handling media relations, hotel PR, social media, events, internal communications, and reputation management.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Relations, Media Relations, Digital Marketing, and Social Media Management.
  • Good understanding of the hotel and hospitality industry, particularly guest experience and hotel operations.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication trends.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency.
  • Good understanding of crisis communication and reputation management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant digital communication/content management tools.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design, photography, and video content is an advantage.
