About Annecy Behavioral Science Lab and Solstice Psychologues
Loneliness is one of the most underrecognized health challenges of our time, and it sits at the heart of both organizations you'd be joining.
Annecy Behavioral Science Lab (ABSL) is a research organization leading some of the world's scientific work on loneliness and social connection. We collaborate with the World Health Organization, the European Union (through our Horizon Europe–funded LONELY-EU project), and universities across several continents. Our work includes original empirical research, open science infrastructure, psychometrics, and evidence-based interventions.
Solstice Psychologues is a French online psychology clinic specializing in loneliness, social isolation, relational difficulties, and attachment, and also supports people through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and burnout. Solstice's guiding principle is captured in our slogan: Cultiver les liens, Inspirer lépanouissement, which means to cultivate human connection and inspire flourishing.
How the Role is Structured
This is one role held by one person, across two related but legally distinct organizations. In practice, that means:
- You'll work under two separate agreements, one with ABSL, one with Solstice, each covering its own scope. The two are independent of one another but designed to fit together into a single, coherent job.
- You'll wear two hats: a science communicator for ABSL, and an operations and growth officer for Solstice.
- You'll coordinate with ABSL's leadership on the communication side and directly with Solstice's co-founders on the operations side.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Part A (ABSL): Science Communication (20 hrs/week)
1. Science Communication and Research Translation
- Translate academic research into accessible narratives such as blog posts, explainers, visual summaries, and social media content that are accurate, engaging, and appropriate for non-specialist audiences
- Draft LinkedIn captions and posts for research outputs across ABSL's programs, including LONELY-EU, TWCF, Creating Connected Workplaces/Professional, and other related projects
- Extract key insights from manuscripts and research findings, identifying the overarching narratives while maintaining scientific accuracy
- Support manuscript development by assisting with structuring, layout, and preparation of accompanying dissemination materials
2. Design Production and Visual Communication
- Create publication materials (pubmats), social media graphics, and visual assets using Canva and similar tools
- Develop conceptual diagrams, manuscript figures, and visual summaries of research findings
- Produce and edit video content as needed (e.g., course materials, campaign assets)
- Revise and iterate on marketing materials across multiple rounds and review cycles, maintaining quality and brand consistency
3. Social Media and Content Operations
- Manage posting schedules, coordinate content calendars, and track engagement metrics across platforms
- Run social media campaigns and monitor analytics, providing actionable insights on what is working
- Maintain communication dashboards and support ad campaigns (e.g., Google Ads) when needed
- Keep ABSL's LinkedIn presence active and growing through strategic posting, meaningful engagement, and consistent visibility
4. Website and Blog Coordination
- Coordinate blog publication logistics with team members and developers
- Work closely with ABSL's web developer to implement updates, enhancements, and content improvements across the ABSL website and project-specific pages
- Ensure that web-facing content is current, well-organized, and aligned with ABSL's communication standards
Part B (Solstice Psychologues): Operations and Growth Officer (20 hrs/week)
1. Marketing (Your Core Priority)
- Manage and optimize Google Ads campaigns, and produce structured performance reports with clear, actionable recommendations
- Research competitor clinics and continuously surface low-budget, realistic acquisition ideas tailored to Solstice's positioning
- Coordinate outreach to associations, partner organizations, and professional networks (strategy aligned with co-founders; execution is yours)
- Research and list Solstice in relevant directories and professional platforms
- Drive ongoing SEO research and implement improvements on our WordPress site
- Generate ideas for and support production of blog content and LinkedIn posts (Canva, content formatting, uploads)
- Keep our LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram pages active and growing: strategic following, meaningful engagement, consistent visibility
- Maintain and optimize presence on Google Business Profile, Pages Jaunes, and similar platforms
- Support newsletter creation, technical setup, and distribution
2. Client & Customer Service (If You Speak French)
This section applies to candidates with French language ability. If you speak French (even at an intermediate level), you will take on direct client communications. If you do not speak French, this function will be handled separately and is not part of your scope. This responsibility will be introduced gradually, as you build familiarity with our clinical operations and ways of working.
- Return client calls via Quicktalk (AI-assisted voicemail summaries)
- Respond to client emails with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
- Book sessions in SimplyBook and process reimbursements via Stripe when applicable
- As the clinic grows, coordinate with a customer service partner and gradually hand over day-to-day client contact
3. Clinical Team Operations
You keep the back office running so our therapists can focus entirely on their clients.
- Coordinate therapist scheduling and ongoing needs via email
- Handle monthly closing: generate session summary reports, prepare pre-filled invoices, and send to therapists for confirmation
- Prepare therapist payment files for co-founder approval; monitor and verify sessions conducted
- Coordinate supervision, scheduling, and support logistics for therapist training sessions (scheduling, materials, slides)
4. Technical & Platform Support
- Handle small fixes and content updates on our WordPress website
- Adjust settings and configurations in SimplyBook as needed
- Liaise directly with support teams (Google Ads, SimplyBook, Quicktalk, etc.) when issues arise
What We Are Looking For
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in science communication, content creation, or digital communications (ideally in a research, academic, or nonprofit context)
- Strong writing: the ability to turn complex, technical content into clear, engaging language for general audiences, without sacrificing rigor
- Hands-on optimization experience with Google Ads plus solid SEO fundamentals and content-driven growth thinking
- Proficiency with Canva (required) and WordPress (basic edits); Google Workspace fluency; familiarity with Figma/Adobe a plus
- Working knowledge of social media management (especially LinkedIn), scheduling tools, and basic analytics
- Comfort with booking/payment platforms, or a demonstrable ability to learn tools quickly
- Comfortable working with academic formats (e.g., manuscripts, abstracts, research briefs) even if you're not a researcher yourself
- Clear, professional English. French is a real advantage for the Solstice side
- Background in or genuine interest in healthcare, mental health, or human-centred service environments is a plus
Who You Are
- You bring both creative instinct and operational discipline: You can see the story inside the data and run campaigns and keep day-to-day operations organized.
- You take ownership and work independently: You come in with an objective and find your own path to it without waiting to be told, and you can manage your own pipeline across projects without being micromanaged.
- You're comfortable moving between very different contexts and adjusting your tone to each.
- You write structured reports with real recommendations, not just data summaries.
- You take feedback well and can iterate across revision rounds without losing energy or quality.
- You use AI tools intelligently but treat their output as a first draft, checking every piece for accuracy, fidelity to the source, and tone before it goes out.
- You're highly detail-oriented: accuracy, formatting, spelling, and consistency matter across everything that goes out.
- You understand the sensitivity, tone, and ethics of working adjacent to mental health care. Empathy, discretion, and confidentiality are non-negotiable.
- You care about the mission: that loneliness is a serious problem, that research can help address it, and that both communicating that research and helping people access care are worthwhile.
- You think long-term: you want to grow, and you're energized by the idea of building both on ABSL and Solstice's sides.
How to Apply
