Your Role:
You will be responsible for conducting off-site audits of United Petroleum Commission Agent sites to ensure compliance with workplace obligations, payroll requirements, and contractual responsibilities under the Commission Agent Agreement. This role plays a critical part in supporting franchise owners to understand and meet their legal and contractual obligations through accurate review, analysis, and reporting.
You will:
- Initiate and manage remote audit requests with franchise owners under the Commission Agent Agreement
- Request, collect, and follow up on required audit documentation, including:
- Site and business details
- Employment agreements and employee records
- Payroll records, payslips, and superannuation documentation
- Taxation records such as BAS, PAYG Instalments, and ATO Integrated Client Account information
- Maintain professional and clear communication with Commission Agents throughout the audit process
- Access and review the Deputy scheduling system to:
- Confirm employee details, pay rates, and employment status
- Review rosters, scheduled hours, and timesheets
- Extract data for compliance analysis
- Cross-check Deputy data against submitted documentation to verify:
- Timesheets vs actual hours worked
- Payslips vs hours and rates paid
- Rosters vs payroll records for penalties, overtime, and allowances
- Identify discrepancies, risks, or non-compliant payroll practices
- Review documentation for compliance with:
- Fair Work Act and Modern Award requirements
- Visa work-right conditions
- Superannuation legislation
- ATO reporting requirements (STP, BAS, ICA)
- United Petroleum Commission Agent Agreement
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommended corrective actions
- Submit completed audit reports to the National Compliance Manager within required timelines
- Maintain accurate audit records for monitoring and future reference
- Ensure strict confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive employee and business data
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
- Experience in compliance, auditing, payroll, HR, or administrative review roles
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and employment legislation
- Ability to interpret rosters, timesheets, payslips, and pay-rate structures
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple audits simultaneously
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Preferred skills/expertise
- Experience using Deputy or similar scheduling/payroll systems
- Background in retail, fuel, or franchised business environments
- Knowledge of ATO payroll reporting tools such as STP and BAS
