Job description:
The POS Commercial Data Analyst is responsible for managing, analyzing, and translating both external POS data and internal sales and operational data into actionable insights. The role supports Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Management in driving performance, optimizing trade investments, and improving decision-making across the Modern Trade channel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. POS & External Data Analytics
- Collect, validate, and consolidate POS data from Modern Trade customers
- Analyze sell-out performance by account, category, SKU, store, and region
- Monitor distribution (numeric & weighted), assortment, pricing, and promotions
- Conduct promo post-evaluation and ROI analysis
- Identify sales trends, gaps, and growth opportunities based on shopper and store-level data
2. Internal Sales & Commercial Analytics
- Analyze internal sales data, including:
- Sales-in vs. Sales-out
- Targets vs. Actuals
- Forecasts and demand plans
- Inventory and sell-through
- Support sales forecasting, target setting, and performance tracking
- Identify variances, risks, and opportunities versus plan
- Support S&OP / IBP discussions through data-driven insights
3. Reporting & Dashboarding
- Develop and maintain standard dashboards and reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Prepare business review materials for leadership and key stakeholders
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all reports
- Improve reporting templates, automation, and data processes
4. Stakeholder Support & Business Partnership
- Act as a data partner to Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain
- Translate complex data into clear commercial insights and recommendations
- Support Joint Business Planning (JBP) and customer performance reviews
- Align internal and external data to provide a holistic performance view
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years experience in sales, commercial, or data analytics, preferably in FMCG
- Strong understanding of Modern Trade retail dynamics
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI / Tableau / SQL exposure is an advantage
- Experience handling large datasets from internal systems and retail partners
- Strong analytical, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
