What you'll be doing
As a Collections Officer, you'll play a key role in managing early-stage mortgage arrears and working closely with customers to find sustainable solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing early-stage delinquent loans (1–60 days past due)
- Engaging with customers to resolve arrears and negotiate payment arrangements
- Assisting customers experiencing financial hardship with appropriate support
- Monitoring accounts to minimise loan delinquency
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, field agents, and panel solicitors when required
- Meeting daily performance and service KPIs
- Identifying trends and supporting continuous process improvements
What we're looking for
- 3–5 years experience in Collections (mortgage collections within a bank or non-bank lender preferred)
- Knowledge of the Privacy Act, NCCP, and ASIC/ACCC Debt Collection Guidelines
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Highly organised with strong workload management skills
- A collaborative, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
