Codes and Standards Officer
Key Responsibilities/Description:
- Structural design works using bamboo and other bio-based materials
- Analyze experimental data and translate results into design provisions for building codes
- Draft technical documents (codes, standards, guidelines, manuals) based on research data and the state-of-the-art
- Collaborate with stakeholders, experts, and government agencies
- Requires fieldwork, and travel
- Stay up to date with industry trends
Key Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Masters in Civil/Structural or Materials Engineering; 5 years of experience after Masters in design and construction;
- Technical Skills: Strong grasp of structural engineering fundamentals; ability to interpret codes and standards (ISO, ASTM, Eurocode, NSCP, etc.);
- Soft Skills: Excellent writing and spoken English; strong coordination and communication with multidisciplinary teams and non-technical stakeholders; ability to present technical information clearly
Plus points:
- Prior experience in standards or regulatory committee work is a plus
