Job Description:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions, focusing on designing, coding, and enhancing various components across systems or applications. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to implement modern frameworks and agile practices, ensuring the delivery of scalable and high-performing solutions that meet specific business requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software components to ensure quality and performance.
- Document development processes, code changes, and system configurations for future reference.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance software development practices.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in software engineering.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Required Skill: Expert proficiency in Cobol Mainframe.
- Additional Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Functional Testing, Job Control Language (JCL).
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies.
- Experience with database management systems and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Must have and Good to have skills:
1. Proficient and Good hands-on experience in in COBOL, JCL.
2. Good hands-on experience in DB2, IMS and VSAM
3. Should be having knowledge on TSO/ISPF, Endevor, ChangeMan, FileAid
4. Good to have: CICS knowledge, CA7 scheduler and knowledge about ZOS API

Shift Schedule: Shift B, Mid Shift
Work Set up: Hybrid
Number of days in a month or week that needs to be in the office: 2-3/week
