The CME (Continuing Medical Education) Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of CME programs that enhance healthcare professionals knowledge and support brand and business objectives.
This role ensures that all CME initiatives are compliant with regulatory requirements, aligned with medical and marketing strategies, and deliver measurable impact on HCP engagement and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program Management
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of CME programs (e.g., symposium, webinars, conventions)
Develop annual CME plans, calendars, budgets, and resource requirements
Ensure seamless coordination with Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and external stakeholders
Evaluate program effectiveness through KPIs, ROI, and post-activity assessments
2. KOL and Faculty Management
Identify, develop, and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and speakers
Support advisory boards and collaborate on scientific content and module development
Manage honoraria, contracts, and logistical arrangements for faculty
3. Medical Society and External Partnerships
Build and maintain strong partnerships with medical societies and healthcare institutions
Lead company participation in conventions, congresses, and society events
Represent the organization to enhance credibility and scientific engagement
4. CME Compliance and Governance
Ensure all CME programs adhere to regulatory, ethical, and company compliance standards
Manage documentation, approvals, and audit readiness for CME activities
Ensure separation of education from promotion and alignment with industry codes
5. Activity and Budget Management
Track and manage CME-related activities, sponsorships, and event execution
Control CME budget and ensure cost-effective delivery of programs
Oversee vendor, agency, and logistics coordination
6. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Medical, and Regulatory teams to align on strategies
Support field force with educational programs for key institutions
Provide insights and recommendations based on market and HCP feedback
7. Reporting and Insights
Deliver post-event analysis and reporting, including participation, engagement, and outcomes
Use data to improve program effectiveness and guide future CME strategy
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical, medical education, or marketing roles
Proven experience in CME program management or medical engagement programs
Experience working with HCPs, KOLs, and medical societies
Skills & Competencies:
Strong project and stakeholder management
Knowledge of pharma compliance regulations and ethical standards
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Analytical mindset with ability to measure program effectiveness
High attention to detail and execution excellence
