Your Role
As a
Cloud Operations Engineer, you will:
- Support the design, deployment, and optimization of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.
- Manage and optimize Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and related services in cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
- Improve and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, backup, capacity planning, and resource scaling strategies.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, Python, and PowerShell.
- Support CI/CD pipeline management using Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps while ensuring compliance with operational and security requirements.
- Implement monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident management practices using Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and related tools.
- Assist in enforcing cloud security best practices, including IAM, access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Participate in incident response activities, root cause analysis, postmortems, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to improve reliability, uptime, performance, and operational excellence.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in CloudOps, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (preferred) and Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience managing Windows Server environments, including troubleshooting, patching, automation, and Active Directory administration.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills/expertise
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certifications.
- Experience with FinOps practices, cloud cost management, and optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Experience managing Linux systems within cloud or hybrid infrastructures.
- Knowledge of Windows licensing models and cloud cost considerations.
- Experience with performance tuning and diagnostics of Windows-based applications.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Experience with cloud migrations and multi-cloud governance strategies.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
