Multi-Cloud Linux Operations
. Provide L2 operational supportfor Linux distributions (RHEL 7/8/9, CentOS, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux 2/2023) inon-premises and multi-cloud environments
. Support cloud operationspredominantly on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
. Hands-on experience with cloudservices including: EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, CloudWatch, Systems Manager (SSM), AWSBackup, Security Groups, VPC, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Azure Virtual Machines, AzureKubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Azure Automation, AzureBackup, Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, CloudMonitoring, Cloud IAM
. Manage and support Linux systemservices, systemd, networking, firewalls (iptables/firewalld), SELinux/AppArmor
. Monitor and maintain Linuxworkload performance, availability, and ensure cloud security baseline acrosscloud platforms
. Participate in 24/7 shiftrotation to provide round-the-clock operational support
Operating System Patch Management
. Perform comprehensive OSpatching for Linux environments using YUM/DNF, APT, AWS Systems Manager, andAzure Update Management
. Execute monthly and quarterlypatch cycles with coordination and approval workflows
. Maintain kernel patching andupdates while ensuring system stability and uptime
. Deep expertise in LinuxOperating System patching, including pre-patch validation, deployment, andpost-patch verification
. Basic knowledge of WindowsServer patching using WSUS and cloud-native tools
. Track patch compliance andgenerate reports for audit and compliance purposes
. Coordinate patch windows andcommunicate with stakeholders
Application Deployment & Troubleshooting
. Deploy and configureapplications on Linux operating systems
. Troubleshoot application issuesat the OS level, including permissions, services, dependencies, and performance
. Support application teams withOS-level diagnostics and resolution
. Perform application loganalysis using tools like grep, awk, sed, and centralized logging platforms
. Configure and manage webservers (Apache, Nginx) and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss)
. Collaborate with developmentteams to resolve infrastructure-related application problems
ITIL & Service Management
. Resolve incidents and servicerequests related to Linux systems via ITSM platforms
. Follow ITIL processes forIncident, Problem, Change, and Request Management
. Create and update tickets withdetailed documentation and resolution steps
. Escalate complex issues toLevel 3 engineers and track resolution progress
. Participate in Change AdvisoryBoard (CAB) reviews and change implementations
. Maintain SLAs and ensure timelyticket resolution
Security & Compliance
. Execute CIS (Center forInternet Security) security remediations and hardening baselines for Linuxsystems
. Implement and review IAMpermissions using IAM Access Analyzer, Azure RBAC, and GCP IAM with leastprivilege model
. Perform VulnerabilityManagement System (VMS) remediation based on scan findings
. Execute Cloudscaperecommendations in collaboration with InfoSec teams
. Work on Security threatdetection tools and perform remediation
. Configure and maintainSELinux/AppArmor security policies
. Implement SSH hardening, sudopolicies, and access controls
. Support security compliancescanning and remediation activities
. Maintain securityconfigurations and monitor for security alerts
. Implement and maintain SSL/TLScertificate management and renewal processes
Container & DevSecOps
. Demonstrate working knowledgeof container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, AKS, GKE)
. Support containerized Linuxapplications and microservices architectures
. Familiarity with DevSecOpspractices and tools used in Singapore Government technology stack (SHIP-HATS)
. Understand CI/CD pipelineconcepts and security integration
. Basic knowledge of containerorchestration and pod management
Automation & Scripting
. Develop and maintain Bash/Shellscripts for routine tasks, automation, and remediation
. Proficiency in Python scriptingfor automation and system administration tasks
. Utilize AWS CLI, Azure CLI, andgcloud CLI for cloud operations
. Create and execute SSMDocuments and Azure Automation Runbooks for automated remediation
. Experience with configurationmanagement tools (Ansible preferred)
. Automate repetitive operationaltasks to improve efficiency
Backup & Disaster Recovery
. Implement and maintain backupand recovery strategies for Linux servers in cloud environments
. Perform backup validations andparticipate in disaster recovery testing
. Experience with backup tools(rsync, tar, AWS Backup, Azure Backup, snapshots)
. Support business continuityplanning activities
. Document and test recoveryprocedures
Documentation & Knowledge Management
. Create and maintain technicaldocumentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
. Document troubleshooting steps,configurations, and remediation procedures
. Maintain runbooks for commonoperational tasks
. Contribute to team knowledgebase and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitoring & Observability
. Configure and maintainmonitoring using native cloud - CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and GCP CloudMonitoring
. Set up alerts, alarms, andnotifications for critical systems
. Experience with monitoringtools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk)
. Analyze logs and metrics toidentify and resolve issues proactively
. Support integration withcentralized monitoring and observability platforms
. Configure log aggregation andanalysis pipelines
Audit & Compliance Support
. Participate in internal andexternal audits
. Provide evidence anddocumentation for compliance requirements
. Support audit remediationactivities

Required Qualifications
. Diploma or Degree inInformation Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
. Minimum 4 years of hands-onLinux/Unix administration and support experience
. Minimum 2 years of hands-oncloud experience supporting Cloud Linux workloads
. Strong understanding of OSpatching processes and patch management tools
. Experience with ITIL practicesand using ITSM ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
. Experience with applicationdeployment and OS-level troubleshooting
. Hands-on experience with CISsecurity hardening and remediation
. Bash/Shell and Python scriptingproficiency for automation and routine tasks
. Basic knowledge of WindowsServer operating systems
. Experience in regulated orsecure environments
. Availability for 24/7 shift rotation and on-call support
