Cloud Engineer

Non-negotiable:

· 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps roles.

· Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform, including GKE, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, Composer, IAM, VPC, and Cloud Storage.

· Solid experience with Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Azure Networking, and Azure DevOps.

· Strong proficiency with Kubernetes — cluster setup, Helm charts, RBAC, ingress controllers, and workload management.

· Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or equivalent tooling.

· Proficiency with GitHub repository management, including branching strategies, code reviews, and access controls.

· Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code — Terraform experience strongly preferred.

· Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.

· Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals — DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, and private connectivity.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams.

Job Qualifications:

· Google Cloud Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer).

· Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400).

· Experience with Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer DAG development and troubleshooting.

· Familiarity with Apache Beam or Dataflow pipeline development.

· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

· Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.

Job Responsibilities:

· Cloud Infrastructure: Design, provision, and manage cloud environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure, following best practices for security, scalability, and cost efficiency.

· Kubernetes Orchestration: Deploy, configure, and manage containerized workloads using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including cluster lifecycle management, auto-scaling, and networking.

· Database Management: Set up, configure, and maintain Cloud SQL instances, including replication, backups, performance tuning, and access control.

· Data Pipeline Infrastructure: Build and support infrastructure for Google Cloud Dataflow pipelines and Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow) environments, ensuring high availability and seamless orchestration of data workflows.

· CI/CD & Source Control: Manage GitHub repositories, enforce branching strategies, and design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or Azure DevOps) to enable rapid and reliable software delivery.

· Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Define and version cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform to ensure repeatable, auditable deployments.

· Security & Compliance: Implement IAM policies, secrets management, VPC configurations, and enforce cloud security best practices across all environments.

· Monitoring & Observability: Configure and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana) to maintain system health and proactively address issues.

· Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between DevOps, platform engineering, data engineering, and application development teams — translating business

needs into cloud architecture decisions and communicating infrastructure changes effectively.

· Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for infrastructure designs, runbooks, deployment procedures, and onboarding guides.
