As a Client Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on target markets, industries, and key stakeholders, focusing on technical sectors where your engineering background will provide significant value. Your role would be focussed on mapping customers, identifying industry trends, and gathering insights on potential clients, all of which will help inform the sales team's approach. This position is critical in ensuring the sales team has the necessary information to engage with prospects and clients strategically.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth market research to analyse technical industry trends, target markets, and competitor landscapes, providing actionable insights that guide business strategy.

Map key customers and stakeholders within technical industries, identifying key decision-makers, influencers, and purchasing trends.

Gather and compile data on customer behaviour, needs, and preferences, helping the sales team understand technical customer requirements and pain points.

Create detailed profiles of prospective clients, focusing on their technical needs, business challenges, and opportunities to help the sales team engage in informed discussions.

Identify new market opportunities by analysing emerging trends, technological innovations, and gaps in the market.

Provide detailed reports and summaries of research findings to the sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the insights necessary to target the right prospects with tailored solutions.

Support the sales team by gathering technical data, preparing materials for presentations, and aligning research with sales strategies.

Maintain and update a comprehensive database of research findings to ensure accurate and up-to-date market intelligence.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially the sales and product teams, to ensure research aligns with business objectives and sales targets.

Required Skills & Attributes:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, etc.), or a related technical field. A background in engineering is essential to understand the technical aspects of the industries you'll be researching.

Experience in market research or data analysis (ideally 1-2 years), with the ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research.

Proficiency in using market research tools, CRM systems, and databases to gather and analyse data.

Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex research data in a clear and structured manner.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

A self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of research projects.

Experience in customer mapping and stakeholder identification within technical markets is highly desirable.

A team player who collaborates well with cross-functional teams, especially in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
