Job Description

Assembly is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Client Finance team to support the financial operations of our North America client portfolio, with a focus on revenue tracking, forecasting, profitability analysis, media reconciliation, and billing support. As a key member of the Client Finance team, you will partner closely with account teams, centralized accounting, and leadership to drive financial accuracy, process improvement, and actionable insights. This role reports to the Client Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Analysis & Reporting: Assist in monthly revenue reporting, recognition, and preparation of journal entries in compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.
  • STBB / WIP Monitoring: Track and reconcile Sales to Be Billed (STBB) and Work in Progress (WIP) balances. Collaborate with billing and client teams to ensure timely conversion, identify aging issues, and support cleanup initiatives.
  • Forecasting & Variance Analysis: Maintain revenue schedules, support rolling forecasts, and perform variance analysis between actuals, forecasts, and budgets. Provide insights to explain key drivers of performance.
  • Contract & SOW Review: Analyze client contracts and scopes of work to ensure accurate financial setup, job coding, revenue attribution, and margin tracking.
  • Client & Account Team Support: Partner with account teams on staffing plans, pricing support, and project margin analysis. Deliver clear, actionable reporting to support internal and client-facing needs.
  • Media Reconciliation: Support monthly and quarterly media reconciliation efforts, ensuring alignment between media delivery, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
  • Process Improvement & Special Projects: Participate in initiatives to enhance client finance workflows, including automation, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Audit & Compliance Support: Contribute to internal and external audits, quarterly reviews, and compliance-related requests as needed.

Required Skills:

  • 3–5 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in a media, advertising, or client services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, revenue recognition, AR, and WIP concepts.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups, basic modeling) and experience with data tools (Power BI, Power Query, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and independently with minimal oversight.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or similar).
  • Prior experience with media finance tools (e.g. Mediaocean, I/O systems, media reconciliation platforms).
  • Experience working in an agency or marketing services environment.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or automation technologies (Power Query, macros, etc.).
