About Lima Expeditions

Lima Expeditions helps exceptional people build their lives and careers in the United States. We identify global talent, help clients navigate complex immigration pathways, and support their professional growth in ways that benefit U.S. institutions and communities. We are a small, fast-moving team working across talent strategy and immigration.

About the role

We're looking for a Client Advocacy Writer who can turn client achievements and supporting materials into polished writing for public and professional audiences. The strongest candidates will quickly identify what matters in a client's profile, understand what different readers will find persuasive and meaningful, and shape raw material into a clear, well-framed narrative.

The role revolves around public-facing editorial writing, with additional responsibilities involving professional letters and client strategy. The best writing in this role represents clients confidently, and with care.

What you'll do

  • Write and revise high-quality written materials across a range of formats and subjects at a level of sophistication expected by professional publishers and readers.
  • Conduct research as needed to ensure writing is accurate, well-supported, and credible to its intended audience.
  • Shape drafts with strong editorial judgment, improving clarity, structure, narrative flow, and tone.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams, incorporating feedback while championing the quality of the writing.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines with consistent attention to detail and output quality.
  • Contribute to client materials spanning topics such as technology, finance, and other areas relevant to public and commercial conversation.

What we're looking for

  • A creative problem-solver who cares about advocating for people through thoughtful language.
  • Excellent command of prose, with writing that is clear and well-tailored to audience.
  • Strong editorial instincts and the ability to recognize when a draft is thin, lacks narrative flow, or needs a stronger opening.
  • Ability to write in different voices and registers with both flexibility and restraint.
  • Comfortable iterating and revising until the work achieves the right outcome for the client and audience.
  • Adaptability to develop fluency across unfamiliar subjects and domains through research.
  • Reliable under tight deadlines and able to maintain steady, high-quality output across multiple client projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, the humanities or social sciences, or a technical field with strong writing experience preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with U.S. immigration and visa criteria is helpful, but not required.
