About The Role
As a Claims Officer, you'll advocate for Gallagher clients by managing and progressing assigned claims for designated brokers, branches, or divisions. You'll ensure each claim is handled efficiently and professionally, in accordance with policy terms and departmental service standards, while delivering a supportive and positive client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients and brokers on claim status, required documentation, policy coverage, and potential outcomes
- Provide proactive updates to drive positive client and stakeholder experiences
- Deliver structured solutions to support clients through complex or challenging claims
- Assess policy terms, coverage, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and circumstances to maximize coverage for clients
- Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, and service providers to progress repairs, authorizations, and payments
- Produce and follow up on claims correspondence
- Collaborate with senior staff when a claim may be denied and formulate responses and explore alternative options
- Maintain accurate claims notes and ensure timely diary updates
- Provide claims statistics and record advocacy outcomes when required
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive service delivery
- Build and maintain effective relationships with insurers, loss adjusters, and service providers
- Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and guidelines
- Engage in ongoing self development, training, and learning opportunities
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A strong client service mindset, with experience in customer focused roles, ideally within Insurance or Financial Services
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
- Clear and confident communication across multiple channels, including phone and written correspondence
- Technical aptitude with the ability to interpret policy coverage and advocate effectively for clients
- High attention to detail
- Ideally, an ANZIIF Foundation Certificate (or have commenced it) or another relevant local insurance qualification
