Job Description for Civil Structural Engineer
Job Description: -
Reporting to the Discipline Civil Head, The Structural Engineer will support the application & technology development of Substation engineering practices related to Equipment Supporting Structures, Steel Structures, Foundations, Wind Pile/Raft Foundations etc.
Roles & Responsibilities: -
- Proficiency in Design of Steel & Concrete Structure like MCR, HT Switchgear Room Building, Steel Tower & equipment support steel structures etc.
- Proficiency in design of shallow foundations including design of Equipment foundations like Power Transformer, CT, CVT, Isolator, Tower Foundation etc.
- Develops optimized design for soil foundation systems like Power Transformer Foundation, Steel & Concrete Structures in conformity with quality standards requirements.
- Interface with other Project Specialists and Designers and plan, co-ordinate, execute and control the geotechnical engineering activities for a project or a proposal in accordance with project requirements.
- Knowledge of Site grading drawings, road & paving layouts, drainage layouts etc.
- Initiate and manage studies with external Contractors and Consultants. Prepares and follow-up Subcontracts associated to the design of Substation consultant/Vendors
- Knowledge of Solar PV area will be an added advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering - B. Tech/B.E
- Must have 8 - 10 years of experience in design of substation & power sector
Essential Criteria: -
Significant experience in Substation engineering
- Must have worked in Staad Software in Analysis & Design
- Specialist Engineer in Engineering Design & Detailing of Civil & Structural works of Substation Projects.
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Desirable Criteria
- Substation, Solar & Wind experience of Civil & Structural Design, site preparation and ground treatment technologies, and foundation design.
