Job Summary:
The Civil Project Engineer will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of civil works for a large-scale pumped storage and hydropower project. The role covers key infrastructure components including dams, reservoirs, powerhouse structures, tunnels, access roads, and ancillary facilities.
This position ensures that construction activities are executed in accordance with approved designs, safety standards, and project schedules, while closely coordinating with contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily monitoring and supervision of civil construction activities at assigned work areas, including RRC-related works.
- Coordinate with contractors and site teams to ensure compliance with approved plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site inspections, progress tracking, and reporting of construction milestones and issues.
- Review construction drawings, method statements, material submittals, and RFIs, raising concerns or discrepancies to the Civil Lead or Project Manager.
- Support quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) inspections and ensure that work is executed to required standards, especially for concrete, earthworks, and hydraulic structures.
- Ensure proper documentation of project records including reports, logs, inspection forms, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, electro-mechanical, and environmental teams for site-level integration in renewable energy and hydropower facilities.
- Enforce site safety protocols and monitor implementation of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements.
- Assist in resolving site-level technical issues in coordination with engineers, foremen, and contractors.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for project leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; PRC license is preferred.
- At least 10-15 years of civil engineering experience in renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure projects, with strong exposure to hydropower developments such as:
- Reservoirs and dams
- RRC / RCC structures
- Tunnels and underground works
- Powerhouses, intake and outlet structures
- Upper basin and lower reservoir areas
- Proven experience with civil site works such as excavation, concreting, rebar works, slope protection, drainage, and earthworks.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (DPWH, ASTM, ACI, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and basic project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project or Primavera).
- Willingness to work 100% onsite, with flexibility to be assigned in either Rizal or Laguna project locations.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
