We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
The
Civil Inspector is tasked with overseeing and ensuring the quality and integrity of civil works associated with Power Plant specifically with solar PV projects. This role encompasses detailed inspection, thorough reporting, and meticulous documentation of the construction and maintenance processes. The inspector ensures all activities comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and project specifications. Responsibilities include verifying the proper installation of foundations, civil supports, and site infrastructure, as well as ensuring the use of approved materials and adherence to design plans. The Civil Inspector also identifies and addresses any deviations or non-compliance issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations to the project team.

- Supervise and monitor all Construction Contractor's civil construction activities at site and ensuring compliance with the Construction Contract, Owner's Requirements and Technical Specification
- Supervise and monitor Construction Contractor's implementation of Scope of Works
- Supervise and monitor Construction Contractor's work on-site progress and identification of potential problems and delays and suggest remedial action
- Supervise and monitor Construction Contractor's civil construction activities as per approved Work Program/Schedule. Provide recommendations and corrective measures on potential delays
- Liaise with Construction Contractor, sub-contractors, third party works contractors and operators of the neighboring power plants for any civil/structural site activities
- Assist the Project Manager and the Owner in the resolution of any disputes and arbitration
- Take actions/steps and/ or give instructions necessary for the Contractor to comply with HSSE Plan. Ensure, monitor and report on Contractor's compliance with HSSE Plan
- Quality inspection of all civil/structural works performed by the Contractor and verify quality documentations. This also includes quality inspection of Construction Contractor's workmanship, equipment and materials used for civil/structural works
- Report to Project Manager of any civil/structural defects or deficiencies that will be observed at site. Issuance of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and monitor Contractor's Corrective Action Reports (CAR)/Preventive Action Reports (PAR) as per Contractor's Corrective Action Plan
- Preparation and submission of a daily diary to Project Manager. Prepare and maintain records of Construction Contractor's site activities in terms of progress, safety, quality, schedule, areas of concerns and other site issues
- Provide inputs in preparation of Jacobs weekly and monthly progress reports
- Provide inputs on Construction Contractor's weekly and monthly progress reports
Here's what you'll need
- Relevant experience as a Civil Inspector within the Power Plant sector
- Registered Civil Engineer with valid Professional Regulation Commission License (PRC) is a plus
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Familiarity with industry standards and Structural/Civil Codes
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment
