Job Description

POSITION TITLE : RETAIL CTO

DEPARTMENT : Retail Technology

Work Experience : 10+years

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountablefor the overalltechnology architecture, roadmap,stability and performance of the respective Retail IT platforms, which also includes resolution of critical issues as part of the application maintenance or L3 support; Partners with other BU technology heads to continuously improve the processes and guardrails for delivery and engineering that enable higher agility, while ensuring quality and reliable releases.
  • Partners with the Retail Banking Segment business leadership and other required key stakeholders to define technology opportunities, delivery plans and change the bank projects; Investigates and drives technology innovations(including vendor selection, RFP, assessments and POC) that is alignedto the business segment strategy.
  • Provides expert technology leadership to create and delivera shared visionfor the Retail Banking businessunits, which includes supporting technology strategy, solutions, executive decision making on technology options and the required IT collaboration
  • Proactivelyshares knowledge of technology risksand opportunities to support the Retail Bankingbusiness units in buildingcompetitive advantage, improvingefficiency and enhancingeffectiveness of customerdelivery; Leads the BU in buildingand improving the effectiveness of IT controlsto reduce process friction, increase productivity and improve quality and compliance through automation.
  • Accountablefor the overall IT operations of the RetailBanking business unitsworking closely as needed with the relevant ITG technology teams and key business stakeholders, e.g., Product Owners, Business Owners, Architecture, Testing, Application Support, Cloud & Infrastructure etc.; Leads continuous improvement initiatives for IT operations of Retail IT platforms to drive reliability, up-time and reduce incidents/problems.
  • Builds a strong engineering one-teamculture founded on SBC&aposs visionand values; Investsin the short and future term needs of the Retail Technology Group by recruiting, developing, and growing top technical talent through effective mentoring, coaching, career and succession planning to retain key talent in a highly competitive environmentwhile ensuring adherence to SBC&aposs policiesand procedures and upholding the highest standardsof professional conduct.

Educational

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management,

Required Course:

Business Administration or related fields;an MBA or other advanceddegrees in business administration.

Required/Preferred Certification/Professional License(if applicable):

PMP (Project Management Professional)

COBIT (Control Objectives for Information Technology)

ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library)

TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)

Field of Specialization :

  • Strong leadership and management skills:The individual in this role should have experience leadingteams and managing projectsand be able to effectively communicate their visionto a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Business acumen: have a strongunderstanding of the bank&aposs retailbusiness operations, including banking products, channels, and customer service. They should also be able to speak the language of the bank&aposs business leadersand be able to explaincomplex technical concepts in a way that is easy for non-technical people to understand.
  • Strong analytical skills: able to evaluate complexinformation and make strategic decisionsbased on data.
  • Strong communication skills:able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong relationship management skills: able to develop and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders withinthe bank&aposs retailbusiness unit, includingbusiness leaders, IT leaders, and other key partners.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies: have a good understanding of project management methodologies and be able to apply them effectively to deliver IT projects in line with business objectives.
  • Understanding of IT governance frameworks: have a good understanding of IT governance frameworks, such as COBIT, ITIL, and TOGAF, and beable to apply them effectively to ensure IT projects align with the bank&aposs overall governance policies.
