Job Description

Chief of Staff

Company: Aboitiz Power – Solviva

Location: Makati CBD, Hybrid

About Solviva

Solviva is a fast-growing solar startup on a mission to make clean energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the Philippines. We're building the future of residential solar, offering flexible financing, the latest solar technology, and a seamless, hassle-free transition to solar ownership. As we scale, we need passionate, driven leaders to help shape our growth and the future of residential energy.

Solviva is the first venture launched from AboitizPower's 1882 Ventures, a venture studio focused on decentralizing the energy system and creating more sustainable homes, businesses, mobility, and networks.

Role Overview

The Chief of Staff works directly with the CEO to run Solviva. You will own the work that keeps the company on track: leadership meetings, planning, reporting, board preparation, and making sure decisions translate into action. You will also take on projects that are important but do not necessarily sit with any one team.

The decisions Solviva makes over the next few years will shape the future of energy in the Philippines for a long time. You will be part of them: how we plan, how we grow, who we hire, and where we go next. Few roles at this stage of a career come with that kind of exposure, or that much responsibility.

The work is demanding. It will take sound financial judgment, clear thinking and writing, and the ability to hold senior leaders to their commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Operating Processes & Cadence

  • Run the weekly leadership meeting. Set the agenda, track commitments, and push decisions to closure.
  • Follow up with leaders on the CEO's behalf, so work moves whether or not he is in the room.
  • Spot stalled work and misalignment across teams, and raise them early.

Board & Investor Management

  • Prepare board and shareholder materials, and track every matter arising through to closure.
  • Run investor data room updates and due diligence. Coordinate inputs across teams, manage submissions, and keep responses on time.

Office of Solviva CEO

  • Own the CEO's projects: important initiatives with no clear owner in the organization. Run them from start to finish, before handing them off with clear owners.
  • Triage what reaches the CEO. Resolve what you can, and frame what needs a decision.
  • Draft the CEO's key communications, and act as a sounding board on priorities, people and trade-offs.

Planning & Performance

  • Run the annual and quarterly planning cycle. Set the calendar, collect team plans, and work with Finance to turn them into one unified plan.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly business reviews, and hold teams to what they committed to.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience

  • 5–8 years of work experience, with a clear record of owning and delivering outcomes, not just supporting them.
  • A steep trajectory. You were promoted quickly or trusted with scope beyond your title.
  • Business, engineering or MBA backgrounds are all welcome. We care more about what you've done than where you studied.

Functional Expertise

  • Strong financial literacy. You are comfortable reading financial statements, building and challenging models, and spotting what the numbers are really saying.
  • Clear, structured writing. You can turn messy inputs into a sharp memo or deck.
  • Experience running meetings, processes or projects that cut across several teams.

Leadership & Execution

  • You earn the trust of senior leaders and can hold them to their commitments.
  • You have good judgment on what to handle yourself and what to escalate.
  • You are discreet with sensitive information, including financials, people matters and board discussions.

Why Join Solviva

  • Make an Impact – Shape the decisions that determine how Solviva grows, and how many Filipino homes and businesses get access to clean, affordable energy.
  • Learn & Grow – Work on board meetings, capital raising and leadership hiring years earlier than most careers allow, with real work on your plate.
  • Innovation & Ownership – Bring AI and new tools into how the company runs. Where there's no process yet, you build it.
  • Career Development – Build the judgment and track record to lead a function, run a business line, or start something of your own. We'll discuss your path openly from day one.
  • Backed by Industry Leaders – Solviva is the first venture from AboitizPower's 1882 Energy Ventures. You get the pace of a startup with the backing of a trusted energy leader.

Organization

  • This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • This role carries the CEO's authority on meetings, planning and follow-through. It does not override functional leaders on decisions within their own areas. It is not an executive assistant role.
