Seda Manila Bay is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department and oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of all hotel facilities and building systems. This leadership role is ideal for a Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) with extensive experience in hospitality, commercial properties, or facilities management.
As Head of the Engineering Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering strategies, managing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team committed to delivering a safe, efficient, and reliable environment for guests and associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations across the property.
- Ensure the efficient operation, reliability, and safety of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire life safety, and building systems.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Oversee departmental budgets, energy management initiatives, capital expenditure projects, and cost-control measures.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, occupational safety standards, and hotel brand requirements.
- Direct and mentor the Engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with hotel leadership and department heads to support operational requirements, guest satisfaction, and property enhancement projects.
- Manage renovation, repair, and engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within approved budgets and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, permits, contracts, equipment performance, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Establish and oversee emergency response procedures for engineering-related incidents and business continuity requirements.
Qualifications
- Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) license is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 5–10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, preferably within the hospitality, commercial real estate, mixed-use development, or facilities management sectors.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, MEP operations, building maintenance, energy management, and fire life safety systems.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams, maintenance programs, budgets, and capital projects.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant Philippine laws, safety regulations, and engineering standards.
