Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Chief Engineer role based in Cebu. The Chief Engineer will oversee the maintenance and engineering operations of the property, ensuring the efficient functioning of all facilities and equipment. Responsibilities include managing preventative maintenance schedules, leading a team of technicians, adhering to safety regulations, and coordinating with other departments to support hotel operations. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with local building codes, managing budgets, and implementing eco-friendly practices to align with the company's sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in engineering, electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems
- Proven experience in team management, leadership, and staff training within engineering or maintenance departments
- Knowledge of safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and facility management principles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective solutions
- Project management experience with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and budgets simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and external contractors
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus
- Prior experience in the hospitality industry or a similar setting is highly desirable
