Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for all culinary positions for deployment to luxury cruise ships.
  • Conduct culinary interviews, portfolio evaluations, and skills assessments, including coordination of trade test when required.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to attract high-caliber culinary professionals across multiple specialties.
  • Maintain close coordination with culinary assessors, principal partners, and shipboard management teams to align recruitment efforts with specific galley requirements.
  • Ensure all recruited candidates meet USPH, HACCP, and cruise line sanitation and safety standards.
  • Represent MSM at culinary job fairs, trade shows, and assessment centers, promoting the company as a trusted crew solutions partner in luxury cruising.
  • Collaborate with medical, visa, and deployment units to ensure compliance with all pre-deployment requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and alignment with company standards at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, preferably a major in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred.
  • A culinary training certificate from an accredited culinary institution is a strong advantage.
  • USPH certification is required.
  • HACCP certification is preferred.

Industry Experience

  • With a minimum of 3 years work experience onboard cruise ships or in premium fine-dining establishments is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of culinary operations and luxury dining standards.
  • Talent acquisition background is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven track record in sourcing and assessing top-tier culinary professionals (e.g., Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs, Pastry Chefs, Chef de Partie).
  • Proficient in evaluating culinary portfolios, tasting presentations, and leadership competencies.
  • Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of culinary terminology, international cuisines, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with a focus on quality and compliance.

Required Certifications

  • USPH Certification – Required
  • Culinary Training Certificate – Required
  • Food Safety or HACCP Certification – Advantageous
  • (HR or Talent Acquisition certifications are not required).
