Job Description

JOB SCOPE:

A Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a specific kitchen section, ensuring all dishes are prepared and presented according to standards. They supervise commis chefs, maintain food quality and consistency, control stock and minimize waste, and ensure proper hygiene and safety practices. They also coordinate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to support smooth kitchen operations and efficient service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for food preparation, cooking and general duties in kitchen.
  • Prepare basic food costing
  • Kitchen Schedule
  • Supervise and train team members to perform and achieve the Company's standards
  • Prepare mise en place and ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain proper portion control and minimize waste
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to standard recipes
  • Assisting in pastry preparation such as bread, cakes and desserts.
  • Support Sous Chef or Head Chef in the daily operations and work
  • Ensure consistent, high quality food products are served to guests at all times.
  • Strive to continually improve customer and team satisfaction.
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation in all kitchen and storage areas, etc.
  • Able to resolve emergency issues of the kitchen team and answer enquires.
  • Maintain good conditions of all kitchen supplies, equipment and work areas conforming to the Company's standards.
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Assist in food stock control
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Junior/Sous Chef immediately
  • Be flexible and willing to help in the kitchen at busy time.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the superior

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of Culinary Arts, HRM, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years culinary experience, preferably in hotel or dining restaurant industry
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
  • Leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Be polite, creative, self-motivated with strong sense of responsibility
  • Accountability, able to multi-task and work independently under pressure
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and quality.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physically fit and capable of standing for long hours.
  • Be willing to perform shift work and work on weekends and Public Holidays
