Job Description

PURPOSE:

The Chargeback Clerk is responsible for actioning guest credit card chargebacks within the Credit Card timeline by gathering, organizing, and formatting the required documentation to effectively respond to the chargebacks.

This position is also responsible for researching and processing Sail & Sign research cases.

This role will be working in conjunction with other teams within the company and must have the ability to communicate with contacts from banking institutions, credit card companies, and outside collection agencies. Requires excellent organizational and computers skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responds and provides supporting documents, via website, to credit card companies for credit card chargeback dispute cases.
  • Requests to add/remove guests on the GSAR Do Not Sail/Alert lists. Requests to add travel agency & guest profiles on payment restriction
  • Prepares journal entries to clear credit card chargeback statements
  • Process payments to clear past due balances to credit card chargeback disputes and Sail & Sign statement balances.
  • Researches and responds to Sail & Sign Research cases in I-Care & Outlook (onboard charges, concessions, etc.)
  • Review chargeback bookings and contact respective teams to make adjustments (Sailing Support, Guest Solutions, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

(Professional, Technical, Computer Skills)

  • Education requirements: Associate degree/Jr College or above.
  • 1 to 2 years Accounting Clerical/billing and Credit Card Chargebacks experience within a large organization required.
  • Strong PC skills, with dual monitor use.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Clear Communication Skills (Written & Verbal.)
  • Familiarity with internal controls relative to financial transaction processing environments including Sarbanes Oxley, PCI compliance, and due diligence for handling customer PII (personally identifiable information.)
