Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) based in the Philippines to work remotely for a U.S.-based firm. This role requires strong knowledge of U.S. accounting principles and U.S. tax compliance, including federal and state tax filings. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working with American clients and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and file U.S. federal and state tax returns (individual, corporate, or partnership as applicable)
- Handle U.S. tax compliance, including payroll taxes, sales tax, and information returns (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
- Assist with tax planning and tax strategy for U.S. clients
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with audits and respond to auditor and client inquiries
- Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting and regulatory requirements
- Communicate regularly with U.S.-based team members and clients
- Maintain accurate documentation and improve accounting processes
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the Philippines (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or tax
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations
- Experience preparing U.S. tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, etc.)
- Familiarity with IRS rules and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software (QuickBooks, Xero, Drake, ProSeries, UltraTax, or similar)
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Reliable internet connection and home office setup
