CCTV Tech Officer - Support, SPX Express

The CCTV Tech is primarily responsible for the remote configuration, testing, and maintenance of CCTV systems and related network components.

The technician conducts regular system checks, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure optimal video quality and data retention. The role also involves coordinating with IT, security, and vendor teams for system upgrades, network integrations, and issue resolution, while maintaining accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and service activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the configuration of offline CCTV cameras, Network Video Recorders, and related components when needed.

Analyze camera placements and cabling based on SPX requirements.

Configure IP cameras and assign network addresses and integrate them into monitoring platforms.

Perform routine inspection and check compliance of vendors on preventive maintenance.

Supervise compliance of CCTV vendors from installation to maintenance of CCTV systems.

Review CCTV layouts submitted by Site Planning and revise if necessary.

Maintain accurate records of CCTV tech activities for purposes of data analytics.

Educational Background & Certifications Requirement

Must be a college graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (BSIT) or any related field.

Relevant IT or CCTV-related certifications (if any) will be considered an advantage.

Experience Requirement

Must have at least year (1) year of hands-on experience in IT support, CCTV installation, maintenance, or related technical tasks.

Experience in troubleshooting hardware, network devices, and CCTV systems is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of CCTV systems, including analog and IP-based cameras, CVRs/NVRs, and video management software (e.g., HikCentral).
• Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, IP addressing, cabling, switches, routers).
• Familiarity with electrical and low-voltage systems used in CCTV installation.
• Skilled in installing, configuring, and maintaining CCTV systems and related equipment.
• Ability to perform camera positioning, focusing, and troubleshooting of video and power issues.
• Proficient in cable management, crimping, and termination (RJ45, BNC, etc.).
• Knowledge of CCTV software configuration, including remote viewing setup and user access management.
• Basic familiarity with Windows operating systems and network tools for diagnostics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete system installations and repairs.
• Good communication skills for coordination with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to prepare and maintain installation reports, inventory logs, and service records.
• Basic knowledge of access control systems, alarm systems, and integration with CCTV.
• Awareness of safety protocols and data privacy standards related to surveillance systems.
