Job Summary
The Category Supervisor plays a key role in building, developing, and implementing a comprehensive and highly attractive product catalog across WalterMart.com online channels. The goal is to position WalterMart as a leading online grocery and retail provider in the communities we serve.
This role is responsible for planning and executing merchandising strategies, curating relevant product assortments, and ensuring customers receive the best value. The Category Supervisor identifies trends and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive overall business objectives and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of assigned category groups across WalterMart.com channels
- Develop and optimize category strategies, including vendor strategy, assortment planning, pricing, and supplier engagement
- Achieve vendor targets through effective planning and execution of programs
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers; negotiate improved terms and develop programs to drive acquisition and sales
- Expand and strengthen the vendor network, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply of goods
- Ensure effectiveness and performance of product lines and brand initiatives
- Monitor competitor activities and implement merchandising strategies to improve category productivity and performance
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment across all category touchpoints
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field
- Proven experience in category management, merchandising, buying, or e-commerce operations
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to interpret market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
