Role Overview
The Category Planning & Innovation Lead is responsible for driving category planning, innovation execution, and strategic alignment across the organization. The role focuses on long-term category growth, product innovation, and cross-functional execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Category Planning
- Lead strategic planning processes for assigned categories
- Develop annual and long-range category growth plans
- Monitor category performance and identify business opportunities
- Drive strategic recommendations through data-driven analysis
- Manage category financial performance and resource allocation
- Support development of commercial strategies and execution plans
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with senior leadership to align category priorities
- Facilitate category planning discussions and governance routines
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams on execution
- Ensure organizational alignment on category initiatives and investments
- Support integration of regional initiatives into local market strategies
Innovation & Launch Coordination
- Manage planning and execution of NPL initiatives
- Develop launch volume projections and commercial support materials
- Coordinate launch assets including POSM, artwork, and packaging requirements
- Ensure launch supportability across Supply Chain and Operations
- Lead launch readiness reviews and deployment coordination
- Drive employee and channel engagement strategies for new launches
