CATEGORY BUYER
This role will be employed under one of the multinational e-commerce companies globally and in Southeast Asia.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Merchandise Planning
- Analyze consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends based on e-commerce sales big data
- Sourcing targeted assortment from existing and new suppliers based on wish list.
- Negotiate on supply price to get a competitive price.
- Review performance indicators (e.g. sales, discount levels, traffic and conversion rate)
- Write reports and forecast sales levels on a weekly and monthly basis for owning categories.
Pricing and sales management
- Manage on product pricing to balance sales and margin
- Own product P&L, responsible for margin
- Participate in promotional activities and works with traffic team to develop sales for merchandise.
Inventory Management
- Manage timely entry and maintenance of purchase orders and final orders
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
- Ensure availability and order of stocks proportionate to merchandise movements.
Vendor Management
- Meet suppliers and negotiate terms of contract
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products
- Contact suppliers in order or schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problem
Skills & Qualification
- Strong background in sourcing/purchase/retail in related categories.
- Solid understanding of assortment dynamics and demand forecasting
- Experience in sales and stock management, strong result driving
- Price negotiation experience and capability in certain area, be familiar with industry cost
- At least 2-7 years of Category Buyer or relevant experience
- Fluent in English a must, Chinese/Mandarinspeaking is a plus
- Strong data analysis skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Systems skills (merchandising system, Microsoft applications)
- Holds a bachelor degree
