Job Description
- Analyze catastrophe exposure and loss data for insurance and reinsurance portfolios.
- Run and interpret catastrophe models to assess potential losses arising from natural catastrophe events.
- Perform actuarial analyses to support pricing, reserving, portfolio management, and reinsurance placements.
- Evaluate model outputs including loss exceedance curves, probable maximum loss (PML), and return period metrics.
- Support catastrophe risk advisory and reinsurance transaction projects.
- Organize, validate, and analyze client exposure data before loading into catastrophe models.
- Conduct sensitivity testing and scenario analysis to assess catastrophe risk.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for brokers, reinsurers, and clients.
- Monitor catastrophe risk trends, regulatory developments, and market changes affecting insurance portfolios.
- Collaborate with catastrophe modelers, brokers, and actuarial teams to deliver client solutions.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, or related quantitative discipline.
- Experience in General Insurance (GI) / Non-Life actuarial work.
- Knowledge of actuarial concepts including pricing, reserving, risk assessment, and portfolio analysis.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical findings.
- Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
