About The Role
We are seeking a
Cardiac Care Virtual Assistant with a clinical background in
cardiology or cardiovascular care to support a U.S.-based cardiac practice. This role is ideal for a
nurse or physician who understands cardiac patient workflows and can professionally support patient communication, care coordination, and clinical documentation in a remote setting.
This is
not a general admin VA role we are looking for someone with hands-on cardiac clinical experience who can engage with patients knowledgeably and empathetically.
Key Responsibilities
Cardiac Patient Support
- Communicate with cardiac patients via phone, email, or secure messaging platforms
- Answer patient questions within scope (no diagnosing or prescribing)
- Reinforce cardiac care instructions (post-procedure care, medication reminders, lifestyle guidance as directed)
- Coordinate follow-ups, testing schedules, and specialist referrals
Care Coordination & Documentation
- Manage patient intake and onboarding for cardiac services
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR/EHR systems
- Assist with care plans under physician or licensed provider supervision
- Track cardiac monitoring schedules, follow-up appointments, and outcomes
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Schedule clinic visits, telehealth appointments, and diagnostic procedures
- Support insurance authorization and billing documentation as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Maintain detailed records of patient communications and care activities
Qualifications
Required
- Clinical background as a Nurse or Physician
- Direct experience in cardiology or cardiovascular care (hospital, clinic, cardiac rehab, ICU/CCU, or outpatient cardiology)
- Strong understanding of cardiac terminology, workflows, and patient care standards
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems
- High attention to detail and strong patient communication skills
Preferred
- Active or prior U.S. clinical license (RN, LPN, MD, DO, or equivalent)
- Experience in telehealth, care coordination, or remote patient monitoring
- Familiarity with cardiac diagnostics (EKG, echo, stress tests, Holter monitoring, etc.)
- Experience with insurance coordination or prior authorizations
