Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mortgage operations, mortgage banking, loan processing, secondary markets, or a junior lock desk role.
  • Hands-on experience with rate locks, lock confirmations, pricing, extensions, relocks, and related lock desk processes.
  • Familiarity with mortgage loan pricing, investor guidelines, pipeline management, and rate lock compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, financial analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Experience with mortgage systems, pricing engines, LOS platforms, Bloomberg, Reuters, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, lenders, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and rate-sensitive requests in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to work in a fast-paced mortgage environment.
  • Master's degree or CFA designation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and maintain mortgage rate lock requests while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity across mortgage loan pipelines and systems.
  • Maintain secure data storage systems and analyze data to identify trends, actionable insights, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to support forecasting, reporting, KPI tracking, performance measurement, and stakeholder decision-making.
  • Build dashboards, prepare reports, and provide regular updates on operational performance, business metrics, and key initiatives.
  • Coordinate with loan officers, processors, underwriters, secondary marketing teams, investors, and other stakeholders to resolve lock-related inquiries and ensure efficient transaction flow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical support, improve workflows, reporting processes, operational controls, and overall business efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data processes, reporting capabilities, and system effectiveness.
  • Identify, implement, and evaluate data-driven strategies, recommending improvements based on performance outcomes and business needs.
  • Stay current with emerging analytics tools, technologies, and industry trends to support continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop predictive models and leverage machine learning techniques to support forecasting, trend analysis, and operational optimization.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, operational support, and other duties as assigned.
