CAD Technician

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to produce accurate structural and civil engineering drawings across a variety of project types, including retail, residential extensions, pubs, and industrial units.

Schedule: 20hrs per week, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM UK Time (Flexible during business hours)

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate structural and civil engineering drawings in AutoCAD based on hand-drawn sketches provided by the engineer
• Ensure all drawings are completed to scale and comply with the firm's standard drawing profiles and title blocks
• Interpret and apply structural engineering terminology correctly across all project documentation
• Manage and organise drawing files to maintain version control and project accuracy
• Coordinate with the lead engineer via email to clarify design intent and incorporate feedback efficiently

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrated experience in structural or civil engineering drafting
• Familiarity with structural engineering terminology including beams, foundations, and general construction details
• Strong attention to detail to ensure dimensional accuracy and drawing quality
• Excellent written communication skills for clear and professional email correspondence
